This restaurant is a well known place for food bloggers and is not a strangeranymore. In fact it's only been the third time after I visited here that I decided to write my own and share out in my very own personal blog. Situated right in the vicinity of SS2 buzzling area nearing the roundabout, this place has got it's coloured banner litted up the area which you definitely cant miss it. I remembered my last visit, it did not dawn on me that this place is somewhere which you can find good food and with fairly reasonable price. The plate of prawn which initially what we tought as the very usual call, turn out to be Sang Har "tiger prawns" which has a very huge head and tail that looks like a mini lobster rather. Bill hiked up with just this dish that costed A WHOPPING RM 80!! hahaha. It scared us like shit and for a long time since, we hardly visited this place.Tonight is one special occasion where Im celebrating my new coming job , so the idea of dropping by this restaurant came in. It was initially my dad's suggestion anyway to give it another chance..hehe....so thinking, why not? :P

These are their snacks, peanuts and geen chillies to go with the dish later on..we were so hungry that 2 plates of peanuts are finished up in less than half an hour. hahaha.

The first dish was "Pai Kuat" Pork ribs. Tasted not bad, tough meat which dipped in sweet sour sauce. A considerable amount of meat substance from the ribs. I hated those where you hardly gobble on anything but just the bones. haha..so this is rather good. Costed only RM 12.
Then comes the Fish...my parents were contemplating and whispering to me that it's a bad idea calling any of it since after the prawn killer eater which we had encountered in our previous visit. The risk of getting killed by fish "Man Eater" and cost a bomb when the bill is calculated. However I insisted we MUST have fish! I love fish. haha.So we finally decided to have the CatFish ..I guess that must be it..since it has two long thin whiskers and huge flat longated head with dark grey shiny slimy skin. Im always confused between Catfish as "Ikan Keli" or "Belut" , Eel which of cos both shares nothing in common totally!! hahaha..silly me. Personally this was their call, not my preference. Its steamed in oyster sauce so the smell is similar like those fresh water fish where humans rear.Tasted raw to me. Catfish could have been one of those fatty fish which has thick layers of fat oils especially at both sides beneath the skin. Count those calories and it's pretty unhealthy to consume it every day. hahaha. Cod fish on the other hand, has fat oils in a larger quantity than some other fish, however somehow it tasted much better. But fat oils are said to give health benefits, which we consume as cod liver oils. This costed a shocking RM66. Hahaha.
Third was their La-La, Kam Heong style since we have never tried it before. Tasted normal to me, nothing spectacular. Same style of cooking, fried with sliced tiny shrimps, chillies and curry leaves. In fact it's always saltish when it comes to ordering Kam HeongLa-La. Most probably due to the dried shrimps. my dad commented that it wasnt that fresh and my bf added that he feels there's so much tiny sandrocks inside that it gave a "crunchy"feeling when he ate it. Euuw how disgusting isnt it? Hardly any meat. hahaha.Costed RM 20.
The fourth order was Yok Choy chicken baked in aluminium foil. I believe this was the winner of all the other dishes, the best so far. The chicken meat tasted so smooth and soft soaked in herbs gravy with a combination of our finest traditional chinese ingredients such as the Yuk Chuk, Red Dates, Dong Gwai,Dong Sam, Haw Thorn Berries and several other herbal add on which simply tasted magnificent. Chicken is only half portion I guess, since 5 of us , hardly feels there's much to eat. In fact, I was scooping the gravy literally even what's left inside was just those herbs and chicken bones.I love the gravy so much that I dont mind ordering two helpings on the same dish. Crazy me! :D This only costed RM 28.Fairly reasonable right?

Then as usual, we always have this practice to balance up the overall dishes with vegetables and non meat substance. So we ordered their Beancurd claypot. Ingredients added are the usual red carrots, white chinese cabbage, green peas, button mushrooms, corns and something unusual though..they added siu yuk inside which I dont fancy the combinationan as it spoils the taste of this dish generally. I dont think it blends well. No way. :PI avoided those and only had one small portion of the beancurd in the end. Taste was okay.Nothing to shout about in fact. RM15.

We then added another vegetable call. It's fried sambal belacan kangkung. Hmm..I dont think it tasted that fresh, perhaps it's been over cooked again.Dying and soggish green leaves when eaten. Haha..In fact, I told them, dont you think this feels and smelled funny? It has this quite similar odour from the toilet bowl.Yuccks. This dish was the worst in my opinion. But, weird enough the rest, disagree with me.Chuckled and dismayed, by this, they said no way. There must be something awfully wrong with my tastebud! Maybe, it has all gone haywired since I'm pampered with too many other dishes before I tasted this. :P Costed RM 12.
Well, total bill amount came up to RM 186 Round up. Inclusive of 5% Government Tax, Ice cubes, chinese tea, Peanuts, Towel and Rice. Actually, my best advice to you is, dont call seafood dishes if you MUST, and settle for meat or chicken , then you will havea fairly reasonable meal in here. Just be cautious about something in this restaurant as it doesnt even have their own menu for customers to browse through. Everything is reccomended by their staffs verbally and obviously they are taught to give a convincing persuasion about their signature dishes which has all the exceptionally beautiful price, a heavy cost to pay unknowingly when the bill comes.hahaha. This is probably some of the many tactics to run a lucrative food business. Agree? Well, we wont mind making another trip here sometime in future, but definitely keeping an eye and ears on fish, prawns and crabs. hahaha. :D
