Dinner At Restaurant Yong Thau Foo Leong Ya - Sri Kembangan

Well, this place is so far, for the third time Ive been ever since about a year plus ago when I was in IBM. They say that this place is own and run by the same family on different branches all wiithin the same area at Sri Kembangan. But we usually recqonised this restaurant since that's where most people will flock to during lunch or anytime of the day. Business seems pretty much better here than the other branch. This place is famous for their "Chi Pau Kai" - Paper wrapped chicken. hehe..that night is considered one of those unusual nights whereby I developed this strange sudden urge and craving for Chi Pau Kai at Sri Kembangan. Maybe it's been really a long long time since, and I missed the place so much. Bring back some of the good old memories too. :P The picture above seems so deserted I know, but we always have late dinner at 9pm on weekdays. So, must I say more? :P ah, well, but you can still noticed some families and couples eating still, see there, one granny eating right far end?

We ordered our usual calls, I had "Sour Lime Drink" and him, " Leong Char". Price at RM 4.80 in total. The Sour Lime drink was extremely sour that it really sent chills down my spine and ended up with a sour sweet tongue. I love the effect of it. hahaha.

Here comes, the wrapped up version of "Chi Pau Kai" before we started our indulgence for the long awaiting dish from a distance away. :P

Slurrp...Yummy. The minute I opened up the paper, the strong smell of herbs and ginger was truly appetizing. I love the gravy so much as it's really tasty and one thing for sure, the main ingredients or secret recipe of theirs must have been the ginger since the smell stands out distinctively in the gravy. Simply awesome. No one will ever know what are the secret success of this restaurant for their famous Chi Pau Kai, so guess me? I can never fully figure out what exact ingredients are used. Do you? :) But, I reckon that the Wings part of the chicken is the worst. And too bad, my bf was unlucky he picked that one! haha. He commented that there isnt much meat or substance for him to enjoy - and it is simply not fully satisfying since he is one BIG eater nowadays. :D The breast area portion is just fine with me. RM 3.60 per piece. Cheap? Not too bad I think, since I would give them the credit on preparation skills.

Not being contented with just Chi Pau Kai to wrap up our dinner satisfaction all the way to Sri Kembangan, so we ordered their Kam Heong La-La. Taste was average, and I think probably it's a bit too salty. There's plenty of gravy if you can notice unlike some places where it's really dry. But of course the La-La meat is no way compared to those big oysters or clams which you will only get to eat in Hotels or Buffet functions. :P I bet the cost of it if you buy it from wet market, and prepare yourself, it's definitely much cheaper. This plate costed RM 10.

Here comes our usual favourite call for vegetable. It's well prepared. Fried with tiny chopped garlics and this is always a MUST for vegetables. Leaves are smooth and fresh. At RM7, the price seems reasonable enough.

And this will be their Kam Heong Fried BeeHoon. Hmm...Frankly I've not quite tasted one like how they prepared it in anywhere else. In fact, to me it should not be named as Kam Heong Fried Bee Hoon. It should be "Jawa Pedas Bee Hoon". haha..Why? Because it really has a strong Black Pepper taste that made up the whole idea for this preparation. Just too strong. If you are not someone who fancy black pepper, dont order it. :P And that probably explains why it's stinging hot! :D Ingredients are not much, the usualy brean sprouts, eggs, green onions, dried shrimps and small tiny prawns. No meat. :) Overall it is fine for me since the taste was rather unique and it's first of its kind so far. Costed you RM 10, fair enough, Huge portion!

Well, I will definitely come back to this place again for sure, since I believe that's the only place which sells really good and worth it Wrapped Paper Chicken. Total amount came up to RM44 inclusive of 5% Government tax. Dont be worry about the business hours since as late as 930pm it is still open.
