Why Sushi Station instead of some other many spots to eat in KL? Hahaha. Actually there is some story behind it. Well, initially I overheard someone mentioning this name and asking how to go about going there. Little did I realised that i had mistaken it for the wrong person and it's actually my Boss asking the other day. GOsh. I couldnt recall who initially. But I would rather believe it was fate and coincidence that made us choose here eventually. :P While taking a lift up to the Sungei Wang SHopping Complex,I spotted the banner advertised at one corner of the lift! It was late when we reached KL,as I needed to go hunt for some really good bargain on DVD ROM for my bf. Hehehe..:P SO not knowing where to end up for dinner, as we have to really walk over the outer streets of KL to decide, my feets were really killing me that time, it's feeling sored all over by then. So, I told him, oh no, no more walks, let's just settle down quickly at Sushi Station. It took us quite a while searching for this place cos it's situated right at the top roof of the complex, 6th Floor, where all the entertainment and toys factory are relocated to this floor.
This is how the place really looks like. Front entrance is litted up brightly, but inside it's like so dark and gloomy with red chinese lanterns hanging up. Seems really cosy. First time since I've been to such unique corner where each seats are set up in a "cubicle like" design, with see through thin nettings covering each cubicle opening which is good for couples dating out for romantic candlelight dinner in privacy..:P or even family outings! Feels really Japanese! haha.
It's actually a buffet style with RM 28.80 ++ PER HEAD. There is simply wide variety of choices which you can choose from, with the theme "EAT ALL YOU CAN" . Dont you think buffet can sometimes spoilt us malaysians? No wonder logically, we Malaysians can never be starved by hunger, but rather stuffed to death with overloaded eating, with too many spoilt choices of food everywhere. :D Each table has one single steamboat stove for cooking. Cute isnt it? Very Japanese style of stove design which you can see below.Complimentary set of Steamboat mini pot is given once you sign off for the buffet. It has vegetables, a mini plate of raw pork slices, Japanese Tofu, Stuffed Balls and a Small portion of their special Bee Hoon. We are allowed to pick one side orders each as extras.I called their Fish Umagi and my bf, ordered the Prawn set with Taugeh. Forgotten the Japanese name , oops sorry! :P
Trust me, first impression of having steamboat for Sushi place like this really feels alien especially in Japanese style. We were really making ourselves looking like a complete idiot when we first tried our hands on cooking the pork slices. It sticks to the metal round area of the stove at the top part, when we placed one slice of pork onto it to test out. It seems impossible to fry it, as by then everything would have gone smoked and burnt. hahaha. But as when we ask the waitress, how it seems the correct way of doing! Wow...haha. How on earth did these people manage that?Definitely takes a skilled person to do it. Or someone who is so regular to eating Japanese steamboat perhaps.

The grilled prawns and taugeh seems so-so to him. Since the prawns were not really fresh and the meat is not tough. A bit soggy. Yucks. Bad choice. As for mine, I always prefer calling out their fish, Unagi grilled, savoured with their own special gravy and sauce. Not bad, as the cooking style is grilled rather than fried when it comes to Japanese eating, but thank god it's not raw either. :D
One thing which makes it so worth it for some Japanese steamboat or place like this was their deals, as where you can grab, take it and have it all how much you want to consume on their sushi delights, lining up above us, moving on a railtrain....kinda cute. :PEven then I regretted eventually since we hardly could have the opportunity to try more on their beef and chicken set, together with their mussels and oysters. As initially we misunderstood that those are meant to be charged individually and you haveto pay to how much you can eat. Else it is a wastage. What's the point then right?
THe last few calls we had was their grilled salmon fish, dory fish, fried tempura and gyoza. The fried tempura came with one piece of potato fillings. Not bad. These are basically Japanese dishes which is a MUST and also my usual calls when comes to such places.Hence, we really cant take more than what we wanted to try as we are indeed so stuffed upright till our neck by then. hahaha. Having more is just forcing things down our throat no matter how delicious it is, it's the other way round. :P
Total bill amount came up to RM 66.66 inclusive of 5% Government and Service Charges, Green Tea. It's really worth it if you can eat a huge considerable amount of their selection ssince that's what they call Buffet right? haha. But how many of us can really do that?To me, I cant. However, this place is really worth visiting if you have not tried.Do Check it out, one which gives a good ambience and price worth the food and service it has to offer.
