Recently, I've been really getting bored of eating at Puchong area but it's not a choice for me since we couldnt go far due to my hectic and irregular shifts and his...we just can't seem to travel to far away places to hunt for new place, environment and food. Sigh..so we decided to stop by again at the newly open phase at Bandar Puteri..it was kinda desserted initially...most of the shops are not renovated and some left as empty slots. Not much happening around there seriously...but then I spotted this resturant when with the Banner Tian Yew..it daunted on me where this name sounds really familiar..but I can't say why. So, i decided to check it out..in fact it was really late that time..10pm for dinner since I wasnt feeling hungry earlier. ..it's a nice and cold environment since I can recall that the the air condition was blasting towards my back and its freezing cold. :D But it's quite a major letdown for me since I was expecting to see lots of choices to pick, however there are only several Hakka signature dishes served there ..and everything is basically porky! Nothing which has non meat item ..even then there isnt any fish..omg...even how it was cooked is basically purely "Hakka-ish". It's all way beyond my expectation...left with no choice better, we ordered their Salted Drunken Chicken (that is the only chicken dish serve there!). They dont have 3/4 serving but either one whole chicken else half a chicken..he gave a look at me hinting that it could be too much..haha but heck.I still wanna try that out.. :D It's thankfully Kampung Chicken..so it's not so oily and more healthy in a way..the gravy tasted okay but a bit salty ..perhaps it's meant to have a little of both . Not bad and we managed to wallap everything..however he mentioned that the meat is tough...of cos my dear..it's suppose to be....else it wouldnt have been Kampung Chicken right?? Hmm..;/ It costed RM 18 for half a portion.
Then we ordered their so called Hakka style of Yong Tau Fu just that we only requested for Fu-Chuk and Tau Fu. It turns out really nice and pleasant since the difference is, it's a soup base and their Tau Fu Pok is just not empty or hollow inside..there's a small piece of minced pork placed right in the middle of the tau fu Pok. Cute and really special in it's own sense of style. :P The Fu Chuk is in big chunks and soaked in with the soup..really nice..slurpy yummy. haha. I've never so far tasted anything like this before and embarrasingly admitted while being a Hakka myself, I've never tasted or seen this dish from young till now! :D so pathetic huh. It's only at RM 8.
The other two dishes we ordered were vege based..in fact if you are opting for some light weighted and healthy eating, and so happen love to eat Hakka food, this is the place which you must visit... :) It gives you the sense of home cooking food right from their reown Hakka kitchen... The vegetables is tasty as well..they added in lot's of finely chopped fried garlics and the taste just simply superb! It's only at RM 8. As for the side orders, I was intrique by this peculiar shaped Sui Kaw (looks rather similar but i know it's not). My bf looked at it in such a funny manner and told me, this surely sucks..haha cos the appearance looks white, plain and cold..and he had no idea or could not imagine what's gonna be inside there. hahaha. :D He's just paranoid of seeing white stuffs I guess... though appearance don't seem appealing initially, but guess what??? It's nice! Inside fillings are just vege stuffs such as sliced tau fu, long beans and something else which I'm not sure what. When it goes with the chillie sauce, it's so perfect! You gotta try this too. It's only at RM 3.
Then as for drinks, we just ordered Sea Coconut and even with that , it's in such a big bowl..hahha.. One thing you should know about Hakka food is that everything its pork and made up of pork..their specialty is in there actually. Their famous Ho Po Lui Cha seems to be such a favourite among the customers though I dont know what's it..it only seems so vegetarian to me and plain..but according to him, it's suppose to be nice and healthy. Well, maybe ill try that out one day..and definitely this restaurant won't be in my ban list of cos..hehe. Total bill amount came up to RM 45 plus inclusive of the usual tax charges.. Not too bad eh..:P
Oh god..I didnt know the complete address for this restaurant..but just get in to the newly opened area of Bandar Puteri...the new food court. As you come out from there, there's a traffic light..just go straight and turn left in..there are many new row shop houses inside and it's somewhere in there..Ill try to get the address soon. Sorry for this.
